Share links
Any signed-in person can create a public link for a video they can see, from the Share button on its page. The link needs no account and bypasses channel privacy for that one video only.
Options: expiry of 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days (default), 30 days or never; a view cap of 1, 5 or unlimited. Views are counted per browser (a cookie), so refreshing, seeking and link-preview bots do not consume them, and someone already watching is never cut off when the cap is reached.
The public viewer shows the full page: title, description, artwork, the live transcode fallback if the device needs it, and the video’s subtitles. Links posted into chat apps get a proper preview card.
Avatar menu → Public links lists your links with their expiry and views and lets you revoke them; expired ones are cleaned up automatically. Links created by a deactivated account stop working until it is reactivated.
